When I needed locations for clay pigeon shooting I was kind of worried about my lack of equipment. Luckily I found a bunch of clay pigeon shoot information and venues online, and it turned out that I could count on the locations for clay pigeon shooting to provide equipment, including firearms, for me to use.
Looking for locations for clay pigeon shooting can seem a bit daunting and I was worried about making the wrong decision, especially as it was important that everything go smoothly for my mate’s thirtieth. But the website was very helpful and when I contacted them directly I found that they were super friendly and able to help me plan the entire day from start to finish!
Being able to make group bookings helped to shorten the process considerably and I decided then and there that I would never look for any other locations for clay pigeon shooting as the staff and the setup were ideal for my needs and allowed me to figure everything out in my own time, tailoring my day for my needs and organising the best birthday my mate has ever had!
The locations for clay pigeon shooting I had chosen turned out to be ideal and provided us with everything we needed to fully enjoy the event. My mate bought me a pint at the end to show his appreciation for the amazing day I’d managed to deliver with the aid of the ideal locations for clay pigeon shooting!

Having gone clay pigeon shooting with my dad once as a little boy, I’d always wanted to learn to shoot a clay pigeon properly. When I was a kid I wasn’t very good and my father decided I was a bit too hyper to learn to shoot a clay pigeon, but the thought always stuck with me and I especially wanted to learn to shoot a clay pigeon so that we could enjoy doing shooting clay pigeons together.
When my mum sneakily got me a voucher to learn to shoot a clay pigeon I felt she knew exactly what I’d been thinking. I headed off to learn to shoot a clay pigeon in Kent and my adventure began!
My memory of that day when my dad tried to get me to learn to shoot a clay pigeon involves a lot of boring lessons and rules, and I remember finding the entire process immensely tedious. As an adult, I was able to learn to shoot a clay pigeon in a much more concise way and I found that, as I wasn’t actually acting like I hadn’t paid attention, I didn’t need to be told the same thing three times!
I had wanted to learn to shoot a clay pigeon to surprise my dad on the day he retired with a voucher for two to go clay pigeon shooting. When he found out I had bothered to learn to shoot a clay pigeon, he got a bit teary and later on he told me it was the best present he got. It was more than worth the time and the expense to make my dad so happy!

Clay pigeon shooting is the ideal mixture of good sense and plain old violence. Everyone knows that breaking things can be amazingly therapeutic, and combined with the satisfying crack of a shotgun clay pigeon shooting makes for a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing activity.
If you need to work off some stress or simply fancy being destructive without needing to clean up the pieces, then clay pigeon shooting is ideal for you.
Allowing you to hone your ability to shoot a target, clay pigeon shooting is an amazing discipline that has been popular for an exceedingly long time. While some of the terms used today are an outdated throw-back to days when live targets were used, there is no denying the satisfaction to be found in clay pigeon shooting when you shoot the target dead on and find that you’ve made a ‘kill!’ The crack of the bullet and the shattering of the clay can make clay pigeon shooting sound very pleasing indeed!

Growing up in Perthshire, my friends often went clay pigeon shooting. I was never allowed, because my mum was worried I’d shoot myself in the foot, but as soon as I turned eighteen I got myself a voucher for a clay pigeon shooting experience, to see if it really was as great as my mates always told me it was.
The short answer is NO! It’s about three times better! I honestly couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed myself!
There is a primal part of me that really enjoys holding and handling a gun, and despite the extensive rules and regulations for safety the shine never comes off of that experience. In fact, all the rules and regulations make it even better, as you know and understand the gun in a way you otherwise wouldn’t. I felt like I was part of an elite insiders’ group of people who know how to deal with guns, and it made me feel amazingly special!
Shooting at the clay pigeons was a lot harder than I’d first imagined as moving targets are very different from balloons at the fair. But by the fourth pigeon I started to really get into it and I apparently did remarkably well by the end. It was amazing to shoot and see them flying apart in mid-air, and really gave me a sense of power that I think was far more primitive than most people consider themselves to be!
Shooting became a hobby in the space of one afternoon, and nowadays I go at least once a week. If you’re looking for a new activity to enjoy, then shooting clay pigeons might be ideal for you, too!

I think every mum’s got one, or worries about having one; a child who’s mad about guns. My son is twelve, and ever since he was four or five he’s been nuts for guns. He ran around pretending to shoot people at school at the age of six and we had to come in and be browbeaten by the school over it!
My sister suggested we get him a clay pigeon shooting voucher to get it out of his system, and while we were a little worried that it might have the opposite effect we agreed and purchased the voucher for him. We even though so far ahead as to book the experience for him so that he’d be able to enjoy the voucher on the day he received it!
He went mental when he read the voucher! He’d really not expected it, and it excited him so much that we had to have a bit of a talk about what can and can’t be appropriate behaviour around guns. We needn’t have worried, as a gun safety talk was part of the experience, and soon he was shooting at clay targets like a pro!
He doesn’t hate guns now, but still loves them. However, the safety talk and extensive regulations have made him understand precisely how dangerous they can be. He seems to have calmed down a bit, and I’m really glad we got him a clay shooting voucher! I can certainly give the Manchester Shooting Club an excellent review and two very happy thumbs up!

When my husband bought us a 30 clay lesson for two, I thought he’d lost his marbles. Clay pigeon shooting, me? But he persuaded me by promising we’d go for a scenic walk through the Yorkshire Dales after, and grudgingly I agreed to go along.
Only to outshine him at every turn and leave him thoroughly grumpy from the experience!
We discovered, much to my delight, that I am actually a much better shot than he is and out of our thirty clays I was by far the one to hit the most! His face fell when he realised I was a natural and initially I was a bit worried thinking he wouldn’t be very sporting about it, but in the end he hugged me and told me he was proud to be protected by a sharpshooter like me!
The provision of equipment meant we didn’t have to worry at all about the fact that neither of us had ever owned a gun, and I felt that everything was really well taken care of by the venue in the Yorkshire Dales. We could really relax into learning about guns in general and clay pigeon shooting in particular, and we managed to spend a really chilled out day together enjoying each other’s company and being together in a way we hadn’t been since we were kids, making jokes about winning each other teddy bears!
There were no teddy bears in show, but I made him buy me an ice cream, anyway. We’ll definitely be doing that again!

The Deluxe Clay Pigeon Shooting Experience in Nottingham I got to enjoy was absolutely beyond reproach. I’d been a bit worried about it, thinking my dad had gone mad to buy me the voucher, but in the end it turned out to be an amazingly enjoyable day!
As a small boy I always enjoyed the idea of firearms, but by the time I grew up a bit I lost interest. Or rather, it got swept away in my interest in just about everything else! So on one hand, the clay pigeon shooting idea was very intriguing to me, but on the other I was concerned that spending a day clay pigeon shooting would lead to my sitting at home with a sore shoulder wishing I hadn’t gone!
The loads are actually especially balanced to help you not experience any pain, and in every other way the experience is equally tailored to ensure you have a marvellous time. There was even a bit of healthy competition to keep you going when it seemed like you’d had enough!
I especially appreciated the gun handling lecture as it had been some years since I’d obsessively read everything gun-related I could get my hands on! I found that it was really nice to know precisely how to handle the gun without risk of hurting myself or others, and I really liked being in charge of my own weapon!
I didn’t win the title of ‘high gun’ but I did have a great time and I’m actually determined now to take up clay pigeon shooting as a pastime. I’m looking into which guns are best for me to buy and can’t wait for my next experience at the range in Nottingham!
